The Kármán Line
The BIFA winning story of how a mother is struck by a rare and bizarre condition that sees her body physically lift off the ground and how her family struggle to come to terms with her illness.
The Kármán Line is the latest short film from award winning director Oscar Sharp. It was funded by the BFI and Virgin Media after Oscar’s previous short, Sign Language, won the 2010 Reed Recruitment Short Film Competition and 2010 Virgin Media Shorts. Starring BIFA Best Actress award winner, Olivia Colman (The Iron Lady, Tyrannosaur) and Shaun Dooley (The Woman in Black, Eden Lake), the film is strikingly shot by Golden Osella winning cinematographer, Robbie Ryan (Wuthering Heights, Fishtank, Red Road).
